Oh, this does make me happy. The Sony "Hot Ticket" Rent performance that was shown in movie theaters on limited nights (which I missed =P) is going to get a DVD release.

I think this movie-theater/dvd-release combo has so much potential to give theater-goers outside of the major theater hubs a chance to make Broadway a part of their lives again, so I hope it does well enough that it eventually trickles down to shows that aren't the big phenoms like Rent.
In other news:
- Over at wk_fic_finds, we've started a rewatch of Weiss Kreuz. I came into the fandom fairly late, so this is a very exciting thing for me... watching the same episode at the same time as other people and having a chance to be involved in the conversation. (Not that I usually have much to say, but that's a side issue. :) ) I'm really hoping we'll keep the interest high enough that people will want to continue to Gluhen, and even discuss the chapters of Side B. I think those never really had a chance to succeed with fandom-at-large because of the character changes, and I'm hoping folks may be able to approach it with a bit more of an open mind now that everyone has had time to get over the initial gut-punch of disappointment at the changes.
- I've hit the Christmas spirit pretty early this year. I never even got around to decorating last year, and this year I'm chomping at the bit to put up the ornaments. I've been shopping for new Christmas music for the last two weeks, already, too. It actually gave me a reason to explore iTunes. I love being able to hear snippets of all the different versions of the songs and find the one that suits me. (I have kinda quirky taste in music at the best of times.) Speaking of music, this year's Carols for a Cure is pretty awesome.
- I can't say I was super-sad to see Stargate Atlantis get canceled. On one hand, I was just getting to a point where I appreciated the characters enough to enjoy non-Rodney-centric episodes. But on the other, this season's emphasis on the Rodney/Jennifer-ship in the Rodney-eps. has sucked away a big portion of my love for Rodney, so I'm glad that they're quitting now while I can still look back at the show with some affection. This last episode... ugh.
- Have been playing a lot of Fallout 3 on my spankin' new XBox 360. I could name half a dozen things off the top of my head they could've done to make this game better, but I gotta give them credit for what's there, too. This is a darn immersive game, and they nail the post-nuclear wasteland environment.
