Dealing with service people over the phone, and someone has to call you back.
They ask for your home number. You give it to them.
They ask for your work number. You give it to them.
They ask: "Which is the best way to reach you during business hours?"
"AT WORK." You tell them.
9 times out of 10 in this scenario, even though they've EXPLICITLY asked which number to use, I get home to a message on my answering machine because the idiots have called my home number and not even bothered to *try* the work number... which leaves me having to wait until the next day to have a chance of resolving whatever issue it is.
*sigh*

They call in the mornings, either to remind me of an appointment that I have, of course, forgotten (in which case, really, wouldn't it be better to call at least the day before?) and so never get to, or to cancel appointments so that I can kill myself trying to make it on time, on foot, not having a car, only to find a sign on the door saying they're closed for bad weather or the receptionist telling me that Dr. So-and-so has left for the day and they left me a message and I should totally have known to take an extra hour out of my day to go home and check on that first.
And I know they have my work number because they make me confirm it every time >:\

The one that drives me crazy is my car repair place. Every time I drop my car off, I WATCH them put my office number down and *CIRCLE IT*... and yet somehow the guy who does my car can't figure out that's the number to call when it's done. :P
