Ahhhh, had a pretty good weekend. :)

My house has been in MASSIVE need of a spring cleaning for oh, about the last two years, and I'm finally getting some momentum worked up to accomplish something on that front.  My weakness has been my office area upstairs which is where I tend to chug things when I clean other parts of the house and come across stuff that I don't know where to put it.  I've been wanting to box a lot of that stuff up and store it in the attic, but the attic is filled with boxes from when I originally moved in (12 years ago =P).  I finally started going through the attic this weekend, and have been happily trashing just about everything.

It hasn't freed up quite as much of the attic as I'd like, since there's still plenty of real items stored there, but it's a tremendous start.  I'm at a point where everything's trashed that needs to be, and I can start putting things *away*.  That's the *really* fun part! :)

Other Random Stuff:

I went a *wee* bit crazy on Best Buy's 50% off anime sale.  There were seven stores participating in the sale within a 45-minute radius from me, and I hit them ALL.  I only bought one or two dvd's at each stop, but they added up, and I ended up with a nice variety of titles - some I felt like I ought to have because they're classics, some I wanted because I know I like them, and some I was just curious about.

- Cowboy Bebop Box
- Le Chevelier d'Eon Box
- Area 88 TV Series
- Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex (Season 1)
- Otogi Zushi Sets Part 1 & 2 sets
- Black Lagoon Season 1 Box
- Black Lagoon Season 2 Singles
- Ranma 1/2 Season 6
- Mushishi Vol. 4 & 5
- Moribito Set #1
- Toward the Terra Set #1
- The Girl Who Leapt through Time SE
- Night Head Genesis Vol. 1 & 2
(Know nothing about this, but it was cheap and the bishies on the cover are LOVELY. :) )

I've been video-gaming a lot lately.  I was massively hooked on Fallout 3 for a while, but my character had reached the level cap, which made random wandering feel a little futile.  I decided to take a break until the April DLC comes out and increases the cap.  So, I shifted focus to Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

This is... not the best RPG I've ever played.  If I was grading it, I think it would get a C-.  The gameplay is all right, and some of the elements like item-creation and field-skills, are fun.  But the story is absolute CRAP.  Most of the game takes place on two very low-tech worlds, so we might as well be playing a fantasy RPG, the cut-scenes are ridiculously long and prone to repeating the same information over and over, and the main character is yet another wet-behind-the-ears coming-of-age kid who is prone to emo-ness.  (He kinda accidentally destroys a planet at one point, and we're subjected to what seemed like HOURS of cut-scenes of him angsting over what he did and dithering over every other choice that comes up.  You just want to slap him and tell him to grow a pair.  :P )

Anyway, the rest of the team you assemble is pretty fun in different ways  (even the cutesy characters are pleasant), but just once I'd like to see a J-RPG where the team is comprised entirely of the kickass, no-holds-barred, attitudinal tough guys/gals.  It'd be so fun to have a group of snarky, in-your-face veterans forced to work together for some cause instead of the same old noob and his motley band.
