Andromeda
1. Seamus Zelazney Harper, Super Genius. I'd heard that Michael Shanks was going to guest star on "that new Kevin Sorbo show", so I googled to find out what it was about and came across Harper's bio. I was hooked before I'd seen a single episode. Scrappy geek-boys who hide their inner insecurities with snark are one of my drugs of choice. (Even without Harper, though, Early-Drom is pretty much a *perfect* mix for me of fantastic characters, awesome cast, interesting world-building, and well-thought-out science fiction concepts. I really love *everything* about it.)
2. Long haul. See above re: how perfect it is for me. It's been 8 years, and I still think about the characters a lot and wonder what "might have been" if things hadn't imploded so badly on the creative side. (Shortly into the second season, the showrunner was fired, the story arc he'd been building toward the previous season was scrapped, and the show became very hit-and-miss with a LOT of misses.)
3. Harper 2.0 - The Andromeda version of "character gets super-smart, but it's going to kill him" trope. Though I do really REALLY love some of the more thinky episodes with Gene Rodenberry-ish philosophical dilemmas, too. Angel Dark, Demon Bright or The Mathematics of Tears or Una Salus Victus would all work, too. (Did I mention in #1 that this show has lovely, evocative episode titles? I should have.)
4. I have had a transcript site at one point. (I just went to look at it, and it seems to be gone. :( ) It was really fun to transcript the good episodes - all the witty dialogue was a joy to revisit in such detail.
5. Isn't this always going to be "Yes"? Aside from the mammoth fandoms like Supernatural, there's always room for more fans of the shows I love. :)
One Piece
1. Sanji. The "found family" element built into the show's concept of a crew united against all comers. The combination of undiluted *CRACK* and surprisingly serious life-or-death scenarios. (*cough* And there's the fact that xparrot had written some killer hurt/comfort for it and I knew from experience that she would not steer me wrong. ^_^ )
2. Ummmm... not sure. My enjoyment of the show has become more and more linked to Sanji lately, and certain recent (Sanji-less) events that had the fandom in conniptions left me rather cold. So my focus seems to be narrowing, at least.
3. Any time Sanji gets into whupp-ass mode. I'm particularly partial to Movies 2 & 3, because the character designs in those are in my preferred style, and you get the movie-level animation budget.
4. Not really, no. :(
5. See previous answer. :)
Fantastic Four / Marvel
1. I've had an on-again-off-again love of FF since Saturday Morning Cartoon days, but the movies (Hello, Chris Evans!) sparked me to get more serious about checking it out. Then I discovered that Johnny Storm has a snarky buddyship with Peter Parker in the comics, and saw this sequence where Johnny finds out Peter's Spiderman, and somehow that clinched it for me. Torch & Spidey FTW! :)
2. It's debatable whether I'm really "in" fandom. I don't really understand how to "do" comics fandoms. There's new canon coming out all the time, and with how intertwined different titles can be, and how much backstory everyone has, and how there's no straightforward way to learn that backstory without hunting up old issues, it's very daunting... especially when I'd only care about those two characters.
3. I did really like the first few arcs of "Fantastic Four Unlimited". It's kind of an AU version of FF, so it started with a brand new origin story, so I could start clean. I also really liked the art style and character designs. (Then they switched artists and the entire feel of the comic changed drastically. This is apparently common in comics and fans don't mind, but it really killed my interest. You can't have Torch drawn in as a spiky-haired manga-y style with bold lines and bright colors one issue, and have him suddenly looking like a curly-haired Justin Bieber with a sketchier art-style and muted colors the next, and have me connect emotionally to those two as the same person.)
4. Again, not really. I don't write, and there aren't many discussions in locations I would find them, so my options are rather limited.
5. Hell yes. Especially for Torch/Spidey. It seems like such an obviously awesome pairing, but it doesn't have as much fannish interest as I'd have expected.
