My Netflix queue spit out the first volume of Voyagers! recently, and I finally got around to watching it this weekend.

Gawd, I'd forgotten how charismatic Jon-Erik Hexum was.  The show's obviously dated and cheezy as hell, but his screen-presence was enough to keep me watching the whole disk - not just for the the pretty (those eyes! that voice!  *sigh*), but there's also something in how he sells the character with both the goofy and more heroic/responsible/caring sides.  I don't know what sort of career he might have had in the long run, but it's got me feeling rather nostalgic and sad now.

It's also made me hungry for some sort of "ten years later" sort of fic for the show.  How does their situation work out as Jeff gets older (we can't let him go back to his own time for good, of course) or they encounter more complicated historical problems that fanfic writers could develop a lot better than the show could have.  *sniffle*
