I feel like the laziest person in the whole world, but also supremely happy.  I'm officially paying a company to cut my lawn this year!  They've done it twice so far, and it is such a wickedly decadent feeling to come home to a beautifully cut & trimmed yard.

I have a pretty small yard.  It can be mowed in less than an hour by me, and much less time than that, I'm sure, by people with better equipment.  And yet, I'm having not one iota of buyer's remorse for this.  The pleasure of coming home and *not* having to debate whether the yard needs mowed tonight is such a huge relief  (can it go another day?  is it going to rain tomorrow?  is it worth letting it get really long if it clogs the mulching mower and takes three times as long when I *do* do it?)   My father thinks I'm a spoiled brat who "should be putting that money toward your mortgage!", but one summer with the blissful absence of yardwork isn't gonna kill me. :)

In other news:
How nice is this?  I called the furniture store to find out how much it would cost to replace the inner-cushions on my couch (the "cores", in furniture-store-lingo, apparently).  I've had my couch for eleven years.  I love it in the way that crotchety old men love their recliners in sitcom-land.  I can't conceive of throwing it out, and it's in good enough condition that I don't have to.  But its cushions are squished flat from all the sitting.  So, I was expecting to have to pay anywhere from $50-$300 for new cushions, and was hitting up my parents to pay for them as my birthday present.   The furniture people called the manufacturer to get a price, and the manufacturer said they'd give them to me for free!!  Yay!!  :)
