Just a quick memory entry to store stuff done for m7land .

I'm really enjoying the game.  I had this sort of epiphany early on that "Hey! It doesn't have to be good to get participation points." and that's helped me get over some inhibitions on the creative side of things.  Between that and this sort of "what the hell, just post it" attitude I seem to have developed since my birthday, I think I'm in a decent mindset for hc_bingo, anyway. :)

Hot Water 
(aka: 100 words of the most generic ATF story ever)

Any time now, Mr. Larabee.

There are far too many guns aimed at him, and at his feet, JD is lying far too still. They've walked into a trap, and if Ezra's read the situation correctly, there'll be no smooth-talking his way out of this one.

But still, he has to try.

He smiles. Keeps his hands raised. Tries to look harmless.

"Gentlemen, clearly there's been a misunderstan..."

Someone kicks his legs out from under him, and he goes down hard. There's cold metal at his temple. This is it. He's going to die.

Gunshots sound.

"ATF! Freeze!"

Ezra grins.

He’s going to do it. He’s going to ask her. Sooner or later.

Riding together on a fine summer’s day, watching her laugh... it should be easy.

They’ve been courting – or something like – for three years now. He’s pretty sure she’ll have him, and he knows he wants her. There’s a ring in his vest pocket even Buck doesn’t know about, and he’s practiced the words 'til he’s hoarse. He’s ready as he’s ever gonna get.

And yet...

“JD, are you even listenin’ to me?”

He rests a hand over the secret in his pocket, pretends he was.

Unwritten Fic Ideas

• A Little Hard Work Never Hurt Anyone (Humor) - A "friendly" wager with Vin & JD ends with Ezra obligated to help out for a day at Nettie's ranch. The benefits of an honest day's labor prove to be greatly exaggerated.
• Falls the Shadow (Angst) - A mission takes Chris, Vin, & Ezra to a remote, oppressive town that holds a dangerous secret. When a tragic event there injures Vin and stirs up Chris's demons, Ezra finds himself trying to reason with an increasingly irrational Larabee before he can drag them all into a deadly trap.
• Persuasion (Romance) - Judge Travis arrives in town with an old friend and his son, who are looking to buy some land nearby. Tensions arise when it becomes clear that the Judge is eying the son as a possible match for Mary, trying to see her and Billy well taken-care-of. Chris must decide whether to act on his feelings, while the rest of the Seven offer none-too-subtle advice along the way.

Three Godfathers - A Mag7 homage to the John Wayne movie of the same name: On a ride home after a trip to Ridge City, Buck, JD, and Ezra come across a homestead that's been attacked by bandits and discover a baby who survived the massacre. They get a crash course in infant-care while having to avoid the bandits and get the child safely home. Meanwhile, Chris faces a dilemma when Billy Travis comes to him with a problem instead of Mary, and the recent death of his father has Nathan contemplating leaving town to make a life with Rain.
